Two small Steam Deck beta client updates roll out this week

Valve has pushed out two minor Steam Deck Beta Client updates over the last couple of days, both aimed at small fixes rather than new features.

The December 18th update focused on a specific bug where non Steam browser windows were sometimes being created when steamwebhelper restarted. It’s not something everyone would have noticed, but it could lead to odd behaviour in desktop or game mode, so it’s a welcome cleanup.

A follow up update landed on December 19th, re releasing the Beta Client with additional fixes. The only listed change this time is updated localisation, suggesting text and language tweaks rather than functional changes.

As usual, these updates are currently limited to the Preview and Beta channels. If you’re on the stable Steam Deck build, you won’t see these changes yet unless they’re rolled into a future stable release.

Nothing exciting here, but steady background fixes like this are part of what keeps the Steam Deck experience feeling solid over time.
